Basket Bros 2 Players Same PC: Keys, Quarters and Overtime

One keyboard, two ballers

Basket Bros is a one-on-one game: one baller against one baller, never two on the same team. For two people in the same room, choose 2 Players Same PC on the main menu. Both players then pick a baller on the character screen and share one keyboard. The button only appears on computers; on a phone the menu leaves it out because there is just one set of touch controls.

In this mode each player has only their own keys. The extra keys a solo player gets (the arrow keys as well as A, D and W, and Space or X to punch) are split up so the two sides cannot press each other's buttons. Taunts only work when you are not holding the ball.

How a game is played out

• The intro. The announcer opens with "We have a spectacular matchup tonight!" and introduces both ballers.
• Four quarters. The scoreboard clock starts at 1:00 each quarter. You will see "End of first Quarter", then "Halftime!", then "End of third Quarter".
• Buzzer beaters count. When the clock reaches 0:00, the quarter does not stop at once. It ends when the ball hits the floor or someone is holding it, so a shot already in the air can still go in.
• Overtime. If the score is level after the fourth quarter, the game shows "Overtime!" and plays another period marked OT. This repeats until one side leads when a period ends.
• The "first to 15" line. The announcer says "First to 15 points wins!", and a "Game Point!" banner pops up when a player reaches 13. In the build on this site, though, the check that would end the game at 15 is switched off, so the clock decides the winner and scores can go past 15.

What counts toward your record

The game keeps a win and loss record and uses your wins to hand out upgrades. Only games with a computer opponent or online games change that record. A 2 Players Same PC game is played for fun and does not add wins or losses, so it will not unlock new ballers or dunks for either player.

Playing a friend who is not in the room

If your friend is on another computer, use Online Game instead. The menu tests your connection to six server regions (US California, US Atlanta, US Chicago, EU Frankfurt, AS Seoul and AU Sydney) so you can pick a close one, and you can set up a private game that your friend joins by typing in its game code. Online wins do count toward your record. Quitting an online game early is punished: the game warns that it "will give you 2 losses" before letting you leave.
