Basket Bros Tier List: All 27 Ballers Ranked by Their Stats

Published · Updated · 4 min read

Where these numbers come from

When you pick a baller in Basket Bros, the info box shows a short "Strengths" line, a "Weaknesses" line and six rating bars: Shooting, Height, Hops, Speed, Handles and Defense, each out of 10. The table below copies those ratings straight from the game's own baller data in the HTML5 build hosted on this site, so it is a ranking by the numbers the game gives each player, not by opinion. "Total" is simply the six ratings added up.

What each rating changes

  • Speed raises your top running speed.
  • Hops raises how hard you leave the floor, so a 10 jumps clearly higher than a 4.
  • Height makes the baller's body bigger on the court.
  • Shooting narrows the random error on jump shots (the shooting post covers this).
  • Defense lengthens the reach of your punch, so a high-Defense baller can knock the ball carrier down from further away.

What the table tells you

  • Mike Goat is the top card. He is the only baller with 10 Defense and also has 9 Hops and 9 Speed. His card reads "Perfect footwork, fierce competitor, would rather die than lose."
  • Colby Mamba is close behind. His ratings match Mike Goat's except for Defense (7), which fits his own card: "A near clone of Mike Goat".
  • Pure shooters: Step Flurry and Lowry Birdhouse are the only 10s in Shooting. Step Flurry is a starter, so he is a good first pick for long jump shots.
  • Specialists with a hole: Bin Noshoot and Shackton Diesel both have 1 Shooting. Bin makes up for it with 10 Defense; Shackton has 10 Height and 9 Hops. Veloci Raptor is the fastest baller (10 Speed, 10 Hops) but has 2 Shooting.
  • Weakest defenders: Jamie Hardhat has 1 Defense ("Defense is something he prefers not to play"), and Trey Youth, Step Flurry, Veloci Raptor and Devo Bookend have 2.

Starters and unlock order

Only four ballers are open on a new save: Luke Magic, Trey Youth, Step Flurry and Zane Willow, and Step Flurry is highlighted first. Pick anyone else and the game says "Locked Player!".

The other 23 come from upgrades. You get your first upgrade choice at 2 wins, then at 4, 7 and 10 wins, and after that every 5 wins. Each time, the game offers the three locked items with the lowest tier number, and dunks, taunts and logos share that pool with the ballers, so a choice will not always include a baller. In the game data the ballers sit in these tiers:

  • Tier 1: Jamie Hardhat, Mellow Baller, Jan Soarant
  • Tier 2: Clayton Tommy, Zat MaChine, Ty DaHero, Joe ImBig
  • Tier 3: Kay Sniper, Andy DeVris, Big Nick, Bin Noshoot
  • Tier 4: Geo Freako, LeBling Jams, Jammy Butter, Devo Bookend
  • Tier 5: Veloci Raptor, Kyle Irking
  • Tier 6: Lowry Birdhouse, Shackton Diesel, Mystic Johnston, Colby Mamba, Jay Tater
  • Tier 8: Mike Goat, the last baller you can unlock

So the highest-rated baller is also the last one you can get, and Colby Mamba in tier 6 is the closest you can get to him earlier.
